In the Civil War GBS, the student assumes the role of the President of the United States in 1863. This cover story is a natural for the missions outlined for this GBS. Further, once it is established, it leads directly to ideas for operations our GBS could include. For example, our student might manage the various affairs of state: meet with individuals representing differing interests, gather information relevant to an issue, make decisions, and choose issues on which to concentrate.
