Planning the Operations of a Goal-Based Scenario

Once the essential components of the GBS are established - the competencies the student is to develop, the goals the student can adopt, and the context in which they are achieved - it is time to turn to the specifics of the student's endeavors, known as the scenario operations.

How will the student interact with the GBS: in one-to-one sessions on a computer, through team meetings, by using out-of-school resources, or through classroom activities? What actions can students take: do they create documents or gather data? Does the GBS require computerization, and, if so, what parts? Will students achieve their missions individually, or as a group?
